Please note that each backup software may employ different techniques of backup, so please make sure to read about the backup software of your choice before starting to use it, as Kerio Connect may not work properly depending on the backup technique that the 3rd party software is using. 

• Apple's Time Machine is a snapshot-based backup software which captures the entire state of a system at a particular point in time, including system files, applications, and settings, in addition to personal files.
  • This type of backup should not cause issues with the overall functioning of Kerio Connect, as it does not lock the files for writing while the backup is being performed
• Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, for example, is a file-level or file-based backup software, which treats each file is as a separate entity. The backup process involves copying the files from the source (like a computer's hard drive) to the backup destination (such as an external hard drive, cloud storage, or network-attached.
  • This type of backup may cause issues, as the backup software may put read/write locks on the files that is backing up while it is doing it. This, in turn, may cause errors on the Kerio Connect server because of the locks that are being put in place by the backup software

Please note that any support for the 3rd party backup software should be sought from the vendor, and not from Kerio Connect.
