Overview
While using the Kerio Outlook Connector Offline Edition (KOFF), Outlook is unable to start with the MAPI_E_INVALID_PARAMETER error and the user cannot login from Outlook. The full error message is Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Operation aborted. This issue can occur when the groups are being created directly in Outlook, but not in the Webmail.
Solution
Administrator (root) access to the Kerio Connect server is required to proceed with the steps to resolve this issue:
- Navigate to the Kerio Store folder.
- In the user folders (e.g., INBOX, Contacts, etc.), check if the status.fld file exists.
- For the user folders that do not contain this file:
- Stop Kerio Connect.
- Create an empty
status.fldfile. - Start Kerio Connect.
Testing
Reboot the PC where Outlook wasn't starting and reconfigure the Outlook profile manually.
