Overview
You have configured your Kerio Connect Account in Outlook using KOFF, however, when you search for contacts, you notice that the Global Email Address book does not contain all of the expected contacts. You want to add your contacts folders to the Address Book so they appear within the search results.
Solution
While using the Kerio Outlook Connector Offline Edition (KOFF), the Global email Address Book feature requires additional settings to obtain the server's contact list. KOFF allows displaying the public contacts folder under the People menu. If you cannot find the user name or internal email address you are looking for in the autocomplete list, you can choose another address book from the Outlook Global Address List(GAL).
Note: Contacts that do not contain email addresses will not be visible when you compose a new email in Outlook, even after making these changes. This is by design.
To change the address list order (priority) when sending emails or when opening the address book, see Microsoft's article Change default address book for more information.
Adding Contacts Folder to the Address Book
- Launch Outlook and open the People menu.
- Right-click on your contact folder and click on "Properties".
- Select the Outlook Address Book tab.
- Check the box Show this folder as an email Address Book.
Note: Enabling public folders administration in the Webadmin panel enables 'Show this folder as an email Address Book' for each public folder in KOFF.
- Click Ok.
Removing Contacts Folder from the Address Book
If a user decides to remove a previously added Contacts Folder, they can either disable the 'Show this folder as an email Address Book' setting set above or use the steps below to view and manage all of the Contacts folders.
- Click File > Account Settings.
- Open Address Books
- Select Outlook Address Book and click Change.
- Select any unused Address Books and click "Remove Address Book."
Note: You can also change the show names behavior (First Last or Last First) from this menu.
Testing
Compose or reply to a message and the address book with contacts should populate with the contacts from the configured Contacts Folder.
