Overview
For performance optimization, you can limit the size of the outgoing messages sent by users. By default, new users inherit settings from their domain. But you can change the settings for individual users.
Step-By-Step Guide
- In the administration interface, go to Accounts > Users.
- Double-click the user for whom you want to limit the message size.
- On the Messages tab in the Maximum message size section, select the Limit outgoing message size to (overrides the domain limit) option.
- Specify the limit for outgoing messages for the user.
- Select Do not limit message size to disable any limits.
- Click OK.
Confirmation: The specified limit for outgoing messages reflects in the mailbox settings for the specified user.
Please note that you can only limit the size of the messages; Kerio Connect does not support domain wide or per-user limiting of the amount of emails sent per hour or minute. However, if you want to limit the amount of emails sent, you can follow the steps for Securing the Kerio Connect SMTP Server and applying an IP-based limit.
