Overview
Kerio Connect is available as a standard installation package for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux RPM, and Linux Debian. This article shares the process of installing Kerio Connect on Mac OS X.
Note: Make sure your system meets all requirements before starting the installation.
Process
Follow these steps:
-
Download the latest version of Kerio Connect.
-
Double-click the installer to run the installation wizard.
Note: Kerio Connect must be installed with admin rights to the system. On recent releases of macOS (Catalina or later), you may receive a notification stating, "Kerio Connect Installer.pkg can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software." You can access System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General to allow the installer to run by selecting "Open Anyway".
-
Click Continue.
-
Choose the installation folder or skip this step if you want to proceed with the default location folder
/usr/local/kerio/mailserver
. -
Click Install.
-
Enter your Mac OS user name and password.
-
Click Install Software.
On recent releases of macOS (Catalina or later), following the installation, users may notice that the mailserver process does not have the necessary access to write to the specified datastore location. This is a result of the security changes added in Catalina.
To address this, you can provide Full Disk Access to the mailserver process via System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access. Once the pane is unlocked, place a check next to the mailserver process.
Confirmation
Once the installation is complete, the following confirmation message appears: The installation was successful.
Click the Close button to restart the system and start the Kerio Connect engine as a service.
