Overview
While upgrading Kerio Outlook Connector or Kerio Connect Client, Windows can return the specific local warning, such as Error 1714, The older version of Kerio Outlook Connector (Offline Edition) cannot be removed, contact your technical support group.
In such cases, it's recommended to use KTUninstaller, a tool for cleaning up registry entries from failed installations. Sometimes, a cleanup of MS Installer registry entries is required to proceed with upgrades/reinstallations.

There is a universal binary of KTUninstaller available for both the 32-bit and 64-bit Windows systems. To download the uninstaller, click this link: KTUnistaller.zip.
Note: .NET Framework 3.5 should be installed to use this tool.

KTUninstaller.exe <UninstallerCode>
Example: C:\>KTUninstaller.exe 49075E40-1756-4E55-AEE7-50582D65CCF9
To illustrate how the Command-line KTUninstaller works, we will remove the Kerio Imap Migration Tool (KIMT), as an example, by following these steps:
-
Go to Windows Settings > Apps & features >Type "Kerio" on the App & Features search bar> Locate KIMT. Verify that KIMT is installed in your computer, as shown in the image below:
-
Open the Command Prompt (Run as Administrator). Open the location where KTUninstaller is stored (in this example, it is in the C drive) and run the command, as shown:
-
Depending on the local PC resources, you might need to wait for some time for the changes to take effect.
-
Go to Apps & Features and type "Kerio" in the search bar. KIMT should NOT appear in your application list:
Error Handling
While running the KTUninstaller, you may encounter some errors. For example, running the following command C:\>KTUninstaller.exe 49075E40-1756-4E55-AEE7-50582D65CCF9
may produce the following error:
Upgrade code is: 49075E40-1756-4E55-AEE7-50582D65CCF9
Converted upgrade code is: 04E57094657155E4EA7E0585D256CC9F
Cannot open specified path UpgradeCodes
Cannot open specified path 04E57094657155E4EA7E0585D256CC9F
If you are getting this error, you need to check:
- if you are running the correct version of the KTUninstaller (32-bit/64-bit)
- if you are running the KTUninstaller tool as an Administrator
If you are still getting the same error after verifying that you are running the correct version of KTUninstaller and that you are running the tool as an Administrator, export the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer
Note: The customer might need to do further analysis to resolve issues with their Windows OS installation.
