When Kerio Connect logs are needed to be saved to the Syslog server, the IP address or hostname and the port (optional) needs to be specified. External logging uses the standard Syslog protocol with UDP transport and default port 514.
Make sure the Kerio Connect server can reach the external server by using standard network commands such as ping, traceroute, etc.
The port used by Syslog is not blocked by another process or application.
No OS-level restrictions for the Kerio Connect process (write/read file access, etc)
- Open Kerio Connect Administration and navigate to Logs -> needed log type, i.e. Debug, Warning, Error.
- Right-click on logs -> Log Settings.
- Open External Logging tab -> Enable Syslog logging.
- Specify Syslog server, Facility and Application name.
Note: to specify a custom port, use a colon in the format <IP_address>:<port>, i.e. 192.168.0.2:5555
Syslog is enabled for the needed system objects and events.
