Overview

You want to create a new account with administrator rights or provide administrator rights to an existing user so that the person can manage the Kerio Connect server similar to the default Admin user. This article provides the steps to provide these rights to new and existing users.

Prerequisites

Existing user with administration access to Kerio Connect Administration interface.

Solution

There are 4 options in which users can have different levels of administrator rights:

• No rights - The user will not have any administrator rights. This is the default option selected when any new user is created.
• <domain.com> accounts - The user will have administrator rights only for the domain to which it belongs to.
• Whole server read only - The user will have read-only rights to the entire Kerio Connect server. The user will not be able to modify anything.
• Whole server read/write - The user will have read and write access to the entire Kerio Connect server. This is equivalent to the default Admin user that gets created initially when Kerio Connect is deployed for the first time.

At a time, a user can be assigned either one of these. Below are the steps to assign these options when creating a new user or when editing an existing user:

Creating a New User with Administrator Rights

1. Login to Kerio Connect with admin credentials.
2. Go to Accounts > Users.
3. Select the domain for which you want to create the user and click on Add:

5. Go to the Rights tab, select the appropriate level under the Server administration section, and click on OK:

Editing a User to Provide Administrator Rights

1. Login to Kerio Connect with admin credentials.
2. Go to Accounts > Users.
3. Select the domain where the user belongs and double click that user to whom you want to give Administrator rights. Alternatively, you can only select the user and click on the Edit button:

4. Go to the Rights tab, select the appropriate level under the Server administration section, and click on OK:

Confirmation

The newly created user or the edited user will be able to login to Kerio Connect as an administrator with the appropriate rights as assigned.
