Accessing the Virtual Appliance Using SSH

Overview

This article guides agents on how to access the virtual appliance using SSH. This procedure is done whenever we are assisting customers who are using VMware. 

 


 

Environment

This procedure applies to virtual appliances that are hosted on Windows servers.

Process

  1. Boot up Kerio Connect VMware.

  2. Click on the VMware window and press Enter to access the console.

  3. Type the password kerio and click Enter.

  4. You will see the console settings. Choose SSH settings and press Enter.

  5. Go to SSH enabled and press space + F8 to apply the changes.

  6. Exit the console by pressing the Esc button. Download the Putty client from this Download PuTTY page.

  7. Once the Putty is installed, launch the application.

  8. Type the IP address of Kerio Connect and choose SSH, then click Open

  9. Click Yes to skip the Security Alert.

  10. Type login as: root and the password kerio.

  11. You will be able to access the internal files of Kerio Connect.

Additional Information

The Virtual Appliance is based on Linux Debian, so the commands for troubleshooting will be the same. Type service kerio-connect status to see the current state of Kerio Connect service.
