What is the Agent Log in Kerio Connect?

Overview

You may have noticed that after upgrading Kerio Connect to version 10.0.2 or later, there is a new Agent log available in the Kerio Connect web admin GUI, and you are wondering what's it about. If that is the case, this article is for you!

Information

As indicated in the Kerio Connect 10.0.2 Release Notes, this version (along with subsequent ones) implements GFI AppManager support. The new Agent log that you are seeing is related to the implementation of the GFI AppManager in Kerio Connect, and is closely related to the GFIAgent that you may have noticed was installed alongside Kerio Connect.

The Agent log is a standard informational log generated by the system, where you may frequently see messages of the following type appearing:

2023-12-13 08:46:27[36m [INFO] [version:1.2.32] [0mGET /appliances 200

This log message is a standard informational log indicating a successful GET request to the /appliances endpoint from GFI AppManager, which returns a 200 HTTP status code, which means the request was successful. This is a normal operation and it's not indicative of a problem.

The Kerio Connect appliance constantly tries to query the GFI AppManager endpoint through the GFI Agent, so that you are able to efficiently manage the appliance from within GFI AppManager.

Summary

The Agent log is a result of the GFI AppManager implementation and is used to log the interaction between the Kerio appliance and the GFI AppManager system.
