Overview
When trying to update an email signature for all users domain-wide, the Kerio Connect standard template cannot be changed. It might be scenarios when the user description needs to be placed in front of the mobile phone, but only for the users that have a specific phone number set.
This article provides a workaround on how to achieve such a configuration scenario.
Diagnosis
The Kerio Connect template engine is hard-coded on the server-side and there is no way to alter Javascript default templates.
The solution for the above scenario is to use Mobile numbers not only for digits, but also specifying the field name itself. The mobile field can accept both letters and digits formatting.
The downside of this approach is contact information will show with the embedded text. If you rely on server-synced Contacts might be an issue.
Solution
- In Kerio Connect administration navigate to Accounts -> Users -> [select user] > Edit > Contact tab -> add the text you would like to appear in the footer as part of the phone number.
- Configure the Domain Footer as you like under Configuration > Domains > [select domain] > Edit > Footer.
Testing
Send a test emails from a user with no Mobile info and the user that has the Mobile info set. It will appear like this:
