Configuring public folder with its own email address

Overview

When there is a need to create a public folder and assign its own email address to it, the Kerio Connect needs a specific configuration involving Aliases and Public Folder settings.

The dedicated public folder should be shared between several people and it should be able to receive emails both from external and internal mail addresses.

Prerequisites

Access to Kerio Connect Administration

Solution

  1. In the Kerio Connect Webmail create a public folder in the necessary mailbox-like format, i.e. Marketing@domain.com

  2. Assign required sharing permissions for the mailboxes.

  3. In Kerio Connect Administration, navigate to Accounts -> Aliases -> click Add. Fill out the necessary information, choose "Deliver to" = Public Folder and select the folder created in step 1.

Note: Public Folders configuration is set to global.

If it is set as unique per-domain, the aliases window will look similar to the following format:

Testing

Log in to Webmail and send a test message to the public folder mailbox, in this example Marketing@domain.com.

The message will be automatically placed into Marketing@domain.com public folder.
